Access to updated data The evolution of the coronavirus in each autonomous community of Spain. Source: Ministry of Health. Access to updated data The explanation that South Korea has achieved that in just 20 days there were no new infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, while China has needed 40 days, and that their number was 8 times lower than that of China, is attributed to that the government of South Korea proclaimed the state of alarm when there were only 100 infected, to test all those who had been close to those infected even though they did not present symptoms, since the population obeyed the precautionary measures and of confinement. In fact that in Spain the consequences have been more serious, it is attributed to the fact that despite having already 589 infected people, the protests of March 8 and other massive acts were allowed, to the fact that it was expected that there were 1000 infected people to take measures, it was allowed the entrance of people from other countries without controlling their body temperature, only tests were done to those who already had symptoms and the use of masks was not recommended for healthy people, perhaps because there were no stocks. For all these reasons, unlike other countries, the mobility restriction will last until June 21, 2020. Spain is the country with the highest rate of deaths and of healthcare workers infected by Covid-19. Antonio Jimeno. June 13, 2020. Access to the article in which the following table appears.
Excess of deaths of Covid-19 from March 1 to May 20 or 28, 2020, with respect to the average mortality in previous years. (1) According to our calculations, the excess of deaths is 41,176 instead of 47,123, which is what appears in the original table (El País. 06/05/2020). The 1,002 deaths per million inhabitants come from considering that Spain had 47,100,000 inhabitants. The 27,892 deceased correspond to May 20, 2020 according to the Ministry of Health.
